Tell it what you play
Pick from a tree of ~160 sports — as broad as "running" or as specific as "indoor bouldering" — and set your level for each, beginner through pro.
Decide how findable you are
Your area shows at the precision you choose: suburb, city, region, or nothing at all. Flip yourself to "searching" when you actually want a game, invisible when you don't.
Matchmake
One tap lists people nearby who play what you play, ordered by shared sports, matching skill level, and distance. No swiping, no queue, no algorithmic mystery.
Say hi in the app
Chat without handing out your number. Badges and anonymous commendations from other players help you spot the people who actually show up.

Built by one person in Sydney.
LikeMinds exists because finding someone to play with is somehow still the hardest part of sport. The courts are there, the gear is there — but the person at your level who's free on Tuesday is buried three hundred messages deep in a group chat you muted in 2023.
So the app stays deliberately small: pick your sports, say how good you are, see who's nearby, send a message. There's a feed for your circle and a few badges for showing up — not an algorithm fighting for your attention. If LikeMinds gets you off your phone and onto a court, it's doing its job.

When does it launch?
When it's ready — it's in closed testing now. Preregister and you'll get exactly one email on launch day. The countdown at the top is the giveaway cut-off, not the launch date.
What am I signing up for by preregistering?
One launch-day email, plus a second one if you've won something in the giveaway. That's the whole list. Want off it? Reply to any email or write to hello@joinlikeminds.com.

Android and iPhone.
How does the matching actually work?
It's straightforward: people near you who share your sports, ranked by how many sports you share, how close your skill levels are, and how far away they are. People who've set themselves to "searching" rank above people who are just online.
Who can see where I live?
Nobody, unless you choose otherwise. Other users see an area label at the precision you pick — suburb, city, region, or hidden — and a distance like "3.2 km". Your exact position is only ever used to compute that distance, never shown.
What happens to my messages?
They're stored encrypted on our servers and only the people in the conversation can read them. Your email address is never shown to other users anywhere in the app.
How does the giveaway work?
Five winners are drawn from everyone on the preregistration list when the countdown ends — four gift cards and one mystery prize revealed on launch day. No purchase, no catch; winners are contacted by email.
